Versatility/Missouri-Made Mondays

Many accessories are out there for keeping us warm in the great outdoors. Both in stores and online you can find just about anything that suits your fancy. To keep up with new trends, I decided to change up one of my most popular items and create a scarf with a bonus attribute. This is my newest item for sale in the Katy Trail Creations Etsy shop.

Infinity scarves have long been popular. Not to mention they are pretty helpful when the wind is blowing. Who in the world wants to worry about their scarf blowing off.
But making it a little larger this go-round gives you a little extra for evenings out where you need a little shoulder coverage.
Or what about keeping grammy warm in church? Beats trying to hold up her coat on her shoulders.

Come back next week for another Missouri-Made Monday to see what's new in the shop.

Thankfulness Blog Style

Recently there's a long list of "Thankful Thoughts" crossing the posts in Facebook. I have a simple version....
Thank goodness I made it through the dress search! Here's Kirsten modeling her Archives Dance dress. I'd say she's dressed to the nines! I really love her taste in design and fabric choice. And those shoes are the bomb! Love 'em!

And thank goodness I have the next 5 days off to deliver cowls! These 4 will be delivered this morning.

And special thanks to my eldest for helping me get through the last week and a half with my horrible cold. Just for the record, she doesn't always dress like Rosie the Riveter. But she pulls it off very well!

Scraps Repurposed

Had a bunch of these cowls/circle/infinity scarves that sold out last year. That left me with a pretty significant bag of leftover yarn.
(My youngest daughter makes a fabulous model fyi)

Here's stage 1 of those leftovers.
Trying to decide on whether it just needs a border, or more squares.
Either one is an option.
Decision to come......
For those who don't follow me on Facebook or Twitter, here's the update on my mother.
She's officially back home now so it's Stage 2 for her now. Restrengthening her right side is her challenge. She needs the aid of a walker and has to try to think ahead on normal life instances. Such as how to get that cup of coffee from the coffee pot to her recliner in the next room. But she is one determined lady and we are confident this time next year she'll be back to her old self.

Winner of First Giveaway is........

Here it is! The cowl of which we speak.
Sorry, not giving away the winner that easily.
First I wanna share a cute set of quilt blocks I was put to task on.
The theme of this soon-to-be baby quilt is "ladybugs".
The proud mom to be is 'Becky' & she's been our daughter's teacher for the past 4 years in one class or another and as her FBLA group advisor. We think she's the best!!
As for me, I just did the embroidery (by machine).

We also have a few butterflies included.
Stella Grace will arrive shortly & I'm sure she'll grow to love & cherish the quilt her mother thoughtfully made for her.
Best wishes to this family!
The Bingo cage came in handy for our drawing to make it fair & square.
I hope to get so many items made that I'll be able to do this again. It was lots of fun!!
Patti of Osage Bluff Quilter fame is our winner!!!
Congrats Patti & it'll be in the mail this morning!!

Blizzard 2011 in West Central Missouri

Scrappy rug project I started using strips of fabric. These strips were originally 2 pair of capri pants & 1 sundress. Gonna try & finish this soon. Wand & turtle figurines not part of this project :)
Here's the reason we called it a Blizzard. This was taken at 4 pm so much more fell after this shot. 21.7 inches was the official tally I believe.
A view of my puzzled pooch.
He wasn't impaired too long. Tunneling is his forte'.
View of the garden spot and Katy Trail beyond.  Speaking of Katy Trail, Only 2 are in the running for the Cowl drawing coming up on Friday, Feb. 4 from my Etsy shop, Katy Trail Creations! Thanks for your comments & you'll be hearing something soon! To get your name in the drawing, just become a follower & leave a comment on my last post of Jan. 28, 2011.
Here it is....
