Slow Cookin'/Tasty Thursday

We've spent a lot of time outdoors creating our first in-ground fire pit. We even had a cover made to size. After painting it to prevent rust, here's our final result.

Hoping for many nights by the fireside.... and even some marshmallow roasting to boot.

For the main course on this Tasty Thursday, my husband has become pretty adept at slow cooking meat on the bar bee. The most recent was this delectable tenderloin he roasted from 7 am to 7 pm. It melted in our mouths. The trick is the low heat and setting a firebox of wood chips inside to smoke it through. My favorite part? The carmelized crust. MMMMM Good!! Not to mention a few leftovers for some evenings of fast and painless suppers. What girl would complain about less dishes???

  1. OMG, that sounds SO GOOD! I'm practically vegan, but I would TOTALLY eat that!

I haven't fired up the grill in forever. It seems so pointless to hog-wrassle charcoal for an hour just to char a squash or something.

Thanks for stopping by my blog on the Road Trip. I'll be here again, you betcha!
